Easiest Bm chord
How to play Bm without a difficult barre — easy options for beginners.
Standard Bm and its challenge
Classic Bm is a barre at fret 2. This is one of the first essential barre chords. But there are easier forms.
Simplified Bm (without strings 5–6)
X X 4 4 3 2 — simplified Bm on 4 strings. Sounds lighter without bass, but preserves the minor chord character.
Bm7 as substitute
X 2 4 2 3 2 — Bm7. Still a barre, but often sounds softer and is harmonically interchangeable with Bm.
